The scroll containing the denomination (“ПЯТЬ КОПЂЕКЪ”) appears to have been struck twice. Since these coins were hammered individually from the dies, it would seem that the first blow was too weak and somewhat out of alignment (apprentice at work, perhaps?). There don’t appear to be any other signs of overstriking, and the reverse is error-free. It is somewhat of a mystery to me!
