My main areas of focus with USA coins are later-date large cents, Indian cents, 50 cent classic silver commemoratives, Seated Liberty and Barber dimes, and Morgan and Peace dollars. I also managed to acquire a good handful of Buffalo nickels, some 2 cent pieces, one twenty cent piece (very rare!), and a couple of 3 cent coins (one silver, one CN). Sooner or later, I'll get around to posting all of these, but it takes time!

Except for some 5 kopek coins of Catherine the Great and some earlier 19th century roubles, I have concentrated my Russian coin purchases to date on the period of Nicholas II (1894-1917). The reasons are manifold — some having more to do with the availability of the coins in higher grades, others of more sentimental nature. Also, I have been collecting a few of the modern 3 rouble silver proof commemorative coins, which are quite striking for their utterly beautiful designs, and one gold Rachmaninoff commemorative.

I don’t collect many Swiss coins except for the gold Helvetia and Vreneli 20 Franc series. I have some odds and ends which are interesting, such as a 10 cent coin from 1908 which I received in my pocket change, or one of the last silver 50 cent coins of 1967 which I also pulled out of circulation. That one is also in BU condition, which leads me to believe that someone is spending their Dad’s coin collection, perhaps? An interesting summary about Swiss coinage can be read here: *** official website of the Swiss Mint ***.
