This is the last year this type was minted, and the last poltina of the era of the Romanovs. There are two obverse varieties for this coin; as far as I know, only the Kazakov catalog documents these. R.W. Julian mentions a smaller-head variety which exists in the collection of Valery Khorshev (Moscow).
Next to my 1910 poltina, this one is certainly the finest that I have. Surfaces have practically no marks whatsoever; I would grade it MS-64 or perhaps even MS-65. Falls just short of being proof-like.
There seems to be a bit of striking weakness in the hair, but it is hardly noticeable with the naked eye. For once, here is a Russian coin with nice rims, too!
