Nothing special about this one, although Uzdenikov lists it as being “scarce”. Although this coin has AU detail, the numerous rim dings will probably keep it out of a slab forever.

I’ve seen (and bought!) so many of these 1911 coins on eBay recently that I am beginning to question how “rare” this coin really is? Supposedly there were a lot melted down after minting them, but they really are not all that rare. However, I haven’t seen too many uncirculated examples for sale, so it is certainly scarce in better grades.
